Instagram data deletion requests
If you have arrived here from Instagram with a confirmation code, this page is the status of that request.
Chattr operates its own Instagram accounts (@chattr.durham, @chattr.bristol, @chattr.exeter, @chattr.loughborough, @chattr.brookes and @chattr_social). We do not link Instagram accounts to Chattr accounts, we do not sign anyone in with Instagram, and we do not store any Instagram profile, identifier or content against a Chattr user. There is therefore no Instagram personal data held about you for us to erase, and a deletion request is complete as soon as it is received. We log the request itself so that we can answer questions about it later.
Deleting your Chattr account
That is a separate process and it is entirely in your hands. In the app, go to Settings and choose to delete your account. Deletion runs after a 30-day cooling-off period, during which you can cancel by signing back in. After that your account and your content are removed, except where we are required to retain material as moderation or safety evidence — this is explained in full in our Privacy Policy.
You can also download a copy of your data from Settings at any time before deleting.
