Chattr is an anonymous social network for UK university students. If something is wrong, here is how to reach us and what to expect.
For any problem with the app, your account, or anything else: support@chattr.uk
We aim to reply within 2 working days.
Every post and comment in Chattr has a Report option, which sends it straight to our moderation queue. That is the fastest route and the one to use if you can.
If you cannot use the app, or you are not a Chattr user, email report@chattr.uk
Reports of objectionable content are actioned within 24 hours. Content that breaches our guidelines is removed, and accounts that do it repeatedly are suspended.
Blocking is separate from reporting and takes effect immediately — you do not have to wait for a moderator. Tap Block on any post or comment and you will stop seeing that person's content entirely.
Blocks are managed in Settings → Blocked users, where they can also be undone.
We have no tolerance for content that sexualises or endangers a child. Reports of it are escalated immediately to a named senior owner and are never handled by campus moderators.
To report it directly: report@chattr.uk
If a child is in immediate danger, contact the police on 999. Child sexual abuse imagery can also be reported to the Internet Watch Foundation at iwf.org.uk.
You can download everything we hold about you, and delete your account, from Settings inside the app. Deletion has a 30-day cooling-off period, after which it is permanent.
Data protection questions: privacy@chattr.uk
You can also raise a formal data protection complaint from Settings → Data Protection Complaint, which carries a 14-day response commitment.
Removals can be appealed from inside the app. Appeals are reviewed by a human within 72 hours.
